This is the first and mandatory step. You must create an account on the UK government's official visa website fill in the detailed form accurately, pay the fee online, and then book an appointment at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Pakistan (e.g., in Islamabad, Karachi, or Lahore).
Must be valid for the entire duration of your intended stay in the UK. It should have at least one blank page for the visa vignette (sticker). Include old passports if you have previous travel history.
Recent, passport-sized colour photo with a plain white background. While you often submit digital ones, carrying physical copies to the appointment is advised.
A booked return flight reservation. It's "recommended" because you should not purchase a non-refundable ticket before getting the visa, but you must show a concrete travel plan. A flight itinerary/reservation from a travel agent is sufficient.
Proof of where you will stay—hotel bookings, or an invitation letter with proof of address if staying with friends/family.
While not mandatory for the visa, it is highly recommended to cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, etc. The UK does not have free healthcare for tourists.
This is a CRITICAL document. You must show personal bank statements for the last 6 months, showing a stable, healthy balance sufficient to cover all trip expenses without needing to work in the UK. The funds should be consistent, with no large, unexplained deposits.
A government-issued document (from NADRA in Pakistan) that proves your family composition. It establishes your family ties to your home country.
For married applicants, this proves marital status and further establishes family ties to Pakistan.
A personalized letter addressed to the Entry Clearance Officer. It explains the purpose of your visit (tourism, family visit), your itinerary, your intention to return to Pakistan (mentioning job, family, property), and how your trip will be financed. It ties all your documents together into a clear story.
This supports your bank statements and shows a legitimate source of funds. This can be: Salary slips (most common) Proof of business ownership Property rental income documents Tax returns (FBR notices)
